FOOD PANTRY

Christmas is two weeks away and we planning the preparation of Christmas baskets, but our Pantry needs to be replenished.  Again, we ask for your help.  Thank you for your donations.  Your continued generosity is very much appreciated.

Following Jesus’ command to feed the hungry

Once upon a time there was a parish called St Francis of Assisi, and this parish had a little pantry to help feed some of its needy families.  In time, St. Francis of Assisi joined with Immaculate Heart of Mary to become the bigger parish of Divine Mercy. Now reaching greater numbers of needy families, the little pantry had to become bigger. Again, the generosity of its people came to the rescue.

Since March of this year the pantry has helped 192 needy families put some food on their tables. Following Jesus’ command to feed the hungry, the pantry is in greater need. Divine Mercy Parish has taken a giant step to join with the Community Food Bank of N.J. enabling us to purchase foods at a considerable saving. We are reaching out to help all needy families in Vineland. If you or someone you know is in need of food, please come to the convent on distribution Saturdays (2nd and 4th) of every month from 10am to 12 noon. We very much need your help, financially, donations of food and your time.

Many thanks to the Hispanic people and the Ladies of the Committee for the Needy who help to package and distribute. We still need more help, especially men, to help the elderly carry packages up the stairs. If you can spare an hour on these Saturdays, please contact the rectory.  Thank you and God bless you.
